Adventures with the PET scan

I had my PET scan to pinpoint the cancer today – it wasn’t bad, but not overly fun either.  The worst part was having to lay on my back with my arms back behind my head for 30 minutes. I had to be very still and after a while, the cramp between my shoulders was getting really annoying.

I was told to flush twice when I use the restroom for the rest of the day. Why – you ask? Just like Gene Simmons’ solo album track 1 and the song by The Firm, – I am RADIOACTIVE .

Well I’m not uptight
Not unattracted
Turn me on tonight
Cause I’m radioactive

I’m radioactive from the injection they gave me – hopefully, I won’t glow tonight. Kind of weird knowing that I could set off a Geiger counter.  I’ll hear results in a few days. I’m hoping that the cancer is contained to just the tonsil.

I went to the doctor and found out that I can cancer in my right tonsil. I had noticed a lump at the back of my mouth, but I didn’t think it was serious… oh well, getting older sucks.

I have to have a PET scan to pinpoint the cancer. That’s coming up soon.
